Thanks for your query, it sounds like you require our SCART to HDMI converter, rather than this one. The HDMI to SCART unit is attempting to convert a more modern signal (HDMI) to an older output (E.G. CRT TV). The HDMI to SCART converter is attempting to do the reverse (old DVD player to modern TV with HDMI)
Thanks for your question. This device will not automatically select SCART input on the TV, but certain models of TV may be able to do this.
Thanks so much for your question! This product is one way only, and will convert an HDMI source, into a SCART input. This would be designed for items such as a modern gaming console or streaming stick plugging into an older TV. For converting a DVD with only SCART to HDMI for a newer TV, we have a similar but different product, which is the one below:

If you have an hdmi product like a DVD player and want it to connect to your Scart only TV, then yes this is correct.
