For less than the price of a takeaway, you can make almost any appliance in your house controllable from your phone.

A smart plug is a small adapter that sits between your wall socket and an ordinary appliance. It connects to your home WiFi, which means you can switch whatever's plugged into it on or off remotely — from your phone, on a schedule, or with your voice via Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Home.
