FAQ

Can I charge my MacBook with a USB-C cable instead of MagSafe?

Yes. MacBook models that have a MagSafe 3 port also have Thunderbolt/USB-C ports, and your Mac can charge over either — using whichever source provides the most power. A USB-C cable with USB Power Delivery is a perfectly valid alternative for everyday charging, though MagSafe 3 supports higher wattage on some models and adds the safety benefit of the magnetic disconnect. One important note: connecting chargers to more than one port simultaneously does not charge your MacBook faster — it will simply use the most powerful source available.

Does my MacBook have an HDMI port?

MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro, M1 Max, M2 Pro, M2 Max, M3 and later chips include a built-in HDMI port. MacBook Air models do not have a dedicated HDMI port — to connect to an external monitor, TV, or projector, MacBook Air owners need a USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter plugged into one of the Thunderbolt ports.
